Caring for Bebe Fabric Duffels and Softside Luggage
Spot-clean, de-lint and store your bebe rolling duffel, underseat bag or softside suitcase, and keep zippers and wheels working well.
Spot-clean bebe fabric bags with a damp cloth and mild soap, lift lint and hair with a roller, and let the bag air-dry fully before you store it. Check any care tag sewn into your bag first, and avoid soaking it.
What our fabric bags are made from
Materials vary by model. Our listings describe printed polyester for the rolling duffels, nylon-polyester for the underseat bags and jacquard fabric for the Carissa expandable carry-on. Some models have PVC accents. Check your model's page for its materials.
Everyday cleaning
- Empty every pocket and shake out crumbs.
- Dampen a soft cloth with warm water and a drop of mild soap.
- Blot stains gently, rather than rubbing hard.
- Wipe again with a cloth dampened with plain water.
- Air-dry the bag open, away from direct heat.
We don't recommend machine washing a wheeled bag. The wheels, handle frame and any accents are not made for it.
Hair and lint
Some soft or silky fabrics attract hair and lint, a point customers have made about expandable softside bags. A sticky lint roller usually lifts it in seconds.
Zippers and expansion
- Zip slowly and keep the fabric flat on either side of the slider.
- Don't force a zipper over a bulge. Take something out.
- If your bag has an expansion zipper, use it for extra room. Keep it closed when you fly with a strict carry-on limit, because expanding adds depth.
Wheels and handle
Duffels and underseat bags use in-line wheels. Clear hair and grit from the wheels, and check that the handle slides smoothly. Collapse the handle before you lift the bag.
Storage
- Store the bag clean and dry.
- Keep it out of damp spaces.
- Stuff it lightly with tissue so it keeps its shape.
- Don't stack heavy things on top of it.
