How to Clean a Polycarbonate Bebe Suitcase Shell
Gentle steps to clean your bebe hardside suitcase, treat scuffs, care for wheels and zippers, and store it between trips.
Wipe your bebe hardside case with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry it with a clean cloth. Skip abrasive pads and strong solvents. Light surface marks sometimes lift with gentle wiping, but deeper scratches usually stay.
What you need
- A soft microfiber cloth
- Warm water and a little mild dish soap
- A dry cloth or towel
- A soft brush, such as an old toothbrush, for wheels and zipper teeth
Cleaning the shell
- Pull the trolley handle down and lay the case flat.
- Wipe the shell with the damp, soapy cloth, working in gentle strokes.
- Wipe again with a cloth dampened with plain water to remove soap.
- Dry with a clean cloth so water doesn't sit in the seams or around the handles.
- Wipe the metal plaque and wheel hubs, then dry them.
What to avoid
- Abrasive pads and scrubbing powders. They can dull a glossy printed finish.
- Solvents, acetone, bleach and strong sprays. We haven't tested every cleaner on every print. If you must try a product, test a small hidden spot first.
- Soaking the case. Wipe it, don't dunk it. Dry the lining and zipper area afterward.
Scuffs and scratches
Glossy hardshell cases show surface marks, and customers in reviews often say so. Fine scuffs may fade with a damp cloth. We don't have an official repair method for deeper scratches, and we can't promise any product will remove them. Busy prints such as leopard and floral tend to hide scuffs better than solid glossy colors.
Wheels, zippers and lining
- Wheels: turn each wheel by hand and remove hair and grit.
- Zippers: brush out dust along the teeth and run the slider gently.
- Lining: empty the case, shake out crumbs and vacuum or wipe the lining with a lightly damp cloth. Leave the case open until it is fully dry.
Storing your case
- Store it clean and dry, with the handle collapsed.
- Keep it where it won't be crushed under heavy items.
- Avoid leaving it in extreme heat, such as a hot car, for long periods.
- Stuff the inside with a soft bag or tissue paper to help it keep its shape.
Looking after the case between trips is the simplest way to keep it looking its best.
