Will a Bebe Underseat Bag Fit Under the Airplane Seat?

Our underseat bag measures about 15 x 15 x 8.5 in (38 x 38 x 22 cm), holds about 30 L and weighs roughly 5 lb (2.3 kg). It is designed to slide under the seat in front of you, but space varies by airline, aircraft and row, so check your airline's current rules before you fly.

What is different about an underseat bag

• Shape: compact and soft-sided, so it can give a little when packed.
• Wheels: underseat models use in-line skate-style wheels rather than eight spinner wheels, according to their listings. It rolls behind you rather than beside you.
• Handle: a push-button telescoping handle. Handle length varies by model, so check yours.
• Use: overnight trips, a weekend away, or the cabin bag that holds what you need in flight.

Why "fits under the seat" is never a promise

Under-seat space is not the same on every plane. Seat frames, in-flight entertainment boxes and the person-in-front's seat all change the space. Bulkhead rows often have no under-seat space at all.

Airlines also set their own personal-item limits. Some are tighter in one dimension than 8.5 in of depth. If a limit is smaller than our bag in any direction, a full bag may not qualify, and a soft bag packed to the brim is harder to squeeze in.
