How Do Bebe Spinner Wheels and the Trolley Handle Work?
How the eight 360-degree spinner wheels, push-button trolley handle and three carry handles work on bebe hardside luggage, plus tips to protect them.
Bebe hardside suitcases roll on eight spinner wheels (a pair at each corner) that turn a full 360 degrees. A push-button locking aluminum trolley handle extends to your preferred height and holds there. You can push the case upright beside you, or tilt it and pull it behind you.
The wheel system
Each corner has a twin wheel on a swivel, so the case glides forward, sideways or around corners without tipping. Wheel hubs are gold or silver depending on the collection.
Not every bebe bag has this wheel setup. Underseat bags and rolling duffels use in-line wheels, which roll in a straight line behind you. They are a different design, built for a different job. See Carry-on vs underseat vs duffel.
Using the trolley handle
- Press and hold the push button on the handle.
- Pull the handle up to the height that suits you.
- Release the button. The handle locks into place.
- To lower it, press the button again and push the handle down until it stops.
Collapse the handle fully before you hand the case to airline staff or lift it into a bin. A handle left extended can bend if the case is dropped or stacked.
Three ways to carry it
Hardside cases have a top handle, a side handle and a bottom handle. Use them to lift the case onto a belt, into a trunk or up stairs. Lift with the carry handles, not the trolley handle. The trolley handle is for pulling and pushing, not for hauling a packed case off the ground.
Looking after the wheels
- Don't overload. The more weight on the wheels, the more strain on them. Weigh your case before you leave.
- Lift on stairs and curbs. Rolling a heavy case down steps puts shock through the wheel housings.
- Park on the flat. A spinner can roll away on a slope. Turn the case on its side or keep a hand on it.
- Clear the axles. Hair and grit can catch in the wheels. Turn each wheel by hand now and then and clear what you find.
If a wheel feels stiff, wobbles or has come loose, see Wheels, zippers and repairs.
